LOCAL ATTRACTIONS & THINGS TO DO
A welcome pack with some ideas of local sights, walks and things to do will be left in the cottage during your stay, some of which are walking distance. There is also so much to see and plenty of places to go within a close distance of Ronbeams, and we do recommend towns to visit including the beautiful cobbled streets of Rye (23 minutes drive), the Spa town of Royal Tunbridge Wells (45 minutes drive) and the old towns of Canterbury (1 hour drive) and Hastings (45 minute drive). There is also the large Ashford designer outlet which is only 25 minutes drive away.
Tenterden is wonderful area to walk, with many walks which vary in difficulty and length to suit you. There are also many restaurants, pubs, cafes shops within walking distance from the cottage such as Waitrose, Montalbano Italian, The Hoof & Hook, The Woolpack Inn Tenterden, the White Lion and The Vine. Within driving distance you will also find some beautiful local pubs and restaurants such as The Chequers on the Green and The Woolpack in Warehorne.
There are a number of family activities and sites in Tenterden and the surrounding areas including Kent and East Sussex Steam Railway, Small Hythe Place - Ellen Terry House, Camber Sands beach, Canterbury Cathedral and a large number of castles including Bodiam, Rye, Dover, Sissinghurst, Scotney and Battle Abbey. On top of that there is the Rare Breeds Centre, Port Lympne Safari Park and large number of sports clubs to enjoy.
LOCAL VINEYARDS & WINE TASTING TOURS
Ronbeams is situated perfectly within the Wine Garden of England. Within a short distance, you will find a variety of vineyards and wineries where you can experience wine tours and tasting and even wine-paired three course meals. The vineyards that are within a 5 to 15 minute driving distance (we recommend booking a taxi!) are Chapel Down, Gusbourne, Wayfarer Wines and
Woodchurch Vineyard. Within a 30 minute drive you will also be able to visit Balfour Winery.
